The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education has approved the board’s application for funding for a new 504-pupil place school to replace the existing St. Anne Catholic Elementary School located at 124 Vodden Street East in Brampton.
The funding amount from the province is $13,419,501.
“This funding approval is a significant win for the St. Anne community,” said Anna da Silva, Catholic school trustee for Brampton Wards 1,3 and 4, in whose ward the school is located. “We thank the Ministry of Education and the Province of Ontario for their vision and for recognizing the need for a replacement school that will benefit students and families for many years to come.”
“This is great news for the St. Anne community and the DPCDSB,” said Marianne Mazzorato, Director of Education. “We are so very pleased that we can begin planning for the new school. More information will come forward in the coming weeks and months in terms of next steps in the process.”
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest and most diverse school boards in Ontario with approximately 73,000 students in 151 schools located throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville.
