DPCDSB announces its 2021 Distinguished Alumni

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) has released its eighth annual "Distinguished Alumni" poster series featuring profiles of alumni who are making valuable and unique contributions in their respective careers, pathways, and communities. DPCDSB Distinguished Alumni also represent the image of the Catholic learner as described by the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations.

The poster will be distributed to all Catholic schools and parishes in Dufferin-Peel.

This year's poster features six alumni, including an Auxiliary Bishop, aerospace engineer, social justice leader, software engineer, business owner/plumber, and UN photographer.

  • Sisi Akhigbe, Founder/Executive Director of Impact Black Global (St. Ursula, St. Angela Merici, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Edmund Campion C.S.S.)
  • Bishop Ivan Camilleri, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto (St. Thomas More, Philip Pocock C.S.S.)
  • Melissa Campoli, Software Engineer (St. Philip, St. Jerome, St. Francis Xavier C.S.S.)
  • Matthew D'Andrea, Plumber/Business Owner (St. John Paul II, Robert F. Hall C.S.S.)

"We are extremely proud of our DPCDSB graduates who have gone on to make valuable and unique contributions to society in so many ways," said Marianne Mazzorato, Director of Education. "These alumni have acknowledged that their Catholic education was foundational in helping to shape who they are and the path they have chosen. We hope they serve as a great source of inspiration for our current students and staff."

The profile of each alumni aligns to one of the seven Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations:

  • A discerning believer
  • An effective communicator
  • A reflective, creative, and holistic thinker
  • A self-directed, responsible, lifelong learner
  • A collaborative contributor
  • A caring family member
  • A responsible citizen
