Examination Information

Things you need to know during Exams!

  1. Students must be in full uniform for all examinations. Students that spend examination time getting into appropriate uniform will not be given additional time to write their exam which may impact their examination time and academic performance.
  2. A student who misses an examination must provide a doctor's certificate confirming the illness. Please contact the Attendance Office at 905-456-8543 ext. 26007 before the scheduled exam(s). Students who miss an exam without providing the school with a medical certificate will be assigned a mark of ZERO for the exam component of the evaluation. Time and place to be determined by the classroom teacher.
  3. All students must be in the designated Exam Room by 8:07 a.m.
  4. Students who are late should report directly to the exam room. Students who are late to the exam will not be given any additional time to write the exam. Teachers must notify the Attendance Office when a student arrives late to exam.
  5. Length of Examinations – All Grade 9 & 10 exams are 1.5 hours in length. All Grade 11 & 12 exams are 2 hours in length. Students will be provided with time for Exam Review/Textbook & Outstanding Material collection ahead of their start time.
    • ALL 1.5 hour exams will start at 9:00 am
    • ALL 2 hour exams will start at 8:30 am
  6. No students are permitted to leave the room prior to 10:30 a.m.
  7. The cafeteria will be closed during the examination period. There will be no food service available.
  8. In addition to these expectations, classroom teachers will provide additional classroom instructions as they pertain to textbooks, materials allowed, etc.
  9. Please check your schedule carefully and know the rooms and times for each of your examinations.
  10. If all schools in Dufferin Peel are closed for any unforeseen circumstance, on any exam day, that exam will be written on Exam Contingency Day – see Events section of the website for date(s).
  11. Exam Review Day – Please see Events section of the website for Exam Review Date(s). Students must be in full uniform. Students not in uniform will not be permitted to attend classes and will be sent to the office. A schedule will be available during the examination period. Opportunities for review and in-depth analysis will be available on these day.
