Students are expected to use language that is appropriate to their dignity as Catholic students and the dignity of others.  Coarse, profane or improper language or taking God's name in vain is unacceptable.

Smoking and Vaping

Smoking and/or Vaping is not permitted in or on the school grounds, including the entire block including the sidewalk that surrounds the school at any time by students or adults. This policy also applies during all school events or on field trips. Smoking infractions will result in disciplinary action. Also, smoking on school property may also result in a fine, as per the Tobacco Control Violations Act, being issued by the Region of Peel Health Department.

Representing St. Roch CSS

Participation in any extra or co-curricular activity is encouraged and a privilege which is granted to students who continue to fulfill their obligation as ambassadors of St. Roch Catholic Secondary School to our community to the best of their personal ability.

St. Roch Ravens Spectator Expectations:

Students and adults are encouraged to show their school spirit and attend sporting events whenever possible as per the Dufferin-Peel Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct Guideline. Students can only attend an event when there is teacher supervision in place.  Students are expected to be in uniform or wearing Spirit Wear without school bags when attending an event.  Students are expected to cheer and encourage the players on both teams in an appropriate manner. St. Roch students and adults are to cheer on their Ravens players only, there is no place for any negative comments or negative cheers towards visiting teams or any of their players. Students who choose not to cheer in an appropriate manner will be ejected from the event and face future consequences.

St. Roch Field

The St. Roch soccer/football field is for school related use only. To ensure the field is safe for our students and it receives the proper growth opportunity, trespassers will be asked to leave. The cost related to the upkeep of the field comes from the school operating budget.

Washrooms

To ensure a safe and clean environment in our washrooms, students should refrain from inappropriate use of the facilities and ensure that they leave the environment in the way it is found at the beginning of each day.

Visitors

Visitors must report to the main office. Visitors must have an appropriate appointment with a staff member to obtain a visitor pass. For returning graduated students: If you have not made arrangements to visit during the school day, you may be denied entry until the end of the school day to visit. Please ensure you have arranged to visit before you choose to drop in.

Accidents

If you are injured at any time during the school day, please advise your teacher and/or the main office immediately for first aid and reporting.

Lost and Found

There is a Lost and Found area in the Cafeteria.  Lost items will be placed in this area for one semester.  Unclaimed items will be given to a charity at the end of each semester.

Inclement Weather

The cancellation of School Bus Transportation will be broadcast on all major radio stations.  It will also be posted on the board website:  www.dpcdsb.org.  Although transportation may be cancelled, the school remains open except under extraordinary circumstances.  Ultimately it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to determine whether or not it is safe for a student to leave for school.
