Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School is situated on 39 Sunset Boulevard, northwest of Brampton's downtown corridor. It was opened on September 1982 and blessed on October 13th that same year. The school first existed as a series of portables called "Dodge City" and eventually bloomed to approximately 550 students. The school is named after the Blessed Virgin Mary who appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. There exists a wonderful film depicting this Immaculate event, giving a deeper understanding behind the school name. Daily prayer and devotion to the rosary are the epicenter of the school's faith agenda and atmosphere which resonates through the school’s motto, "Helping Youth Toward a Brighter Future."
Taken in reference from D.P.C.D.S.B Our Story. Our Tradition. Our Journey published in 2011.
The school's Catholicity and history is evidently demonstrated through the staff's desire to engage all students in developing their true potential.
