The Friars’ Student Writing Contest

The Friars’ Student Writing Contest is underway.  This year’s theme is “Abide in my love and you shall bear much fruit” (cf. John 15:5-9).  Contestants must write a 500-word essay answering the following question: As Christians, how can we express our personal relationship to Christ in a modern and socially oriented Church during challenging times, which can bring unity of the Christian family and all humanity?  The submission deadline is Monday, February 15, 2021.  There are great prizes to be won, including a Lenovo Laptop, a Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch, and Apple Earpods!  Please see the attached flyer here, visit www.catholicregister.org/writingaward or see Ms. Zielke in the library for more information. 

 

Annual Polar Expressions Publishing National Student Poetry & Short-Story Contests

Do you love to write?  Has the pandemic brought out your creative side?  Do you want the chance to see your writing published? If you answered yes to any of these questions, check out the 15th Annual Polar Expressions Publishing National Student Poetry and Short-Story Contests.  There are no entry fees and cash prizes can be won!  Every entrant receives a bookmark.  Visit www.polarexpressions.ca to download an entry form.  Original poetry entries are due on November 27, 2020 (32 lines max).  Short story entries are due on December 4, 2020 (450 words max).  Please see Ms. Zielke in the Library Learning Commons for more information.  Happy writing!
