MLA and APA Style Guide




​MLA Style (Modern Language Association) and APA Style (American Psychological Association) are used to format scholarly works and to document sources used to write research papers and essays.  These formats are used internationally by high school, college, and university students as well as by journal publishers and commercial writers.

Use MLA Style for papers and essays written in the areas of literature and the humanities (anthropology, psychology, history, sociology).  See the MLA official website for more information:
