I would like to welcome you to St. Martin Catholic Secondary School. A special welcome is also extended to all that are new to our Catholic School Community. I am truly fortunate to have been the principal of the school since the 2018-2019 school year, a year in which we celebrated the school's 50th anniversary.
These secondary school years can be the best years of a teenager's life if they accept the challenge to be the best versions of themselves; and take risks by getting involved in the diverse and dynamic school activities available. Our school motto challenges staff to “Teach me Goodness, Knowledge and Discipline”. Our faculty is enthusiastic and eager to welcome students to our Mustang family. Hopefully they choose to be part of the school spirit that will create memories they will never forget. Every year we as a staff grow in our knowledge of mental health and wellness supports, while nurturing the academics, the athletics and the arts, all which flourish at St. Martin.
As a Catholic school, St. Martin Catholic Secondary keeps Jesus and his teachings as its central focal point. In addition to our Catholic Graduate Expectations, staff are always keeping the teachings of Jesus as the guiding principles in the classroom and the school. Be sure to follow our school mission statement and make every effort to develop your spiritual and creative qualities. Put your faith into action and be an example because you are truly blessed!
St. Martin is Dufferin-Peel's only Regional Sports School, and although we are very proud of this designation, we strive to have all of our Regional Sports student-athletes strive to be the best possible ambassadors of our program, and in addition to the many championships, scholarships and successes they have achieved in a Mustangs' jersey, the content of their character has always been our greatest achievement as a community of coaches. Being a Regional Sports Student does not mean you have to be an elite athlete, only a student who has a passion for sport, and the various roles, avenues and career choices within that passion.
I am thrilled to be your child's principal and will work my hardest in developing our St. Martin Mustang family every year. The measure of our success lies in the fact that we focus on making a difference and keeping Christ as the reason for this school. We will work hard “to know, to love and to serve God” together, as a Catholic Community in partnership, throughout this school year.
God Bless,
Jason Pratt
