All grade 9 students will write a Simulation Test on this day, in order to prepare for their test the following year.

What is being offered at Cardinal Léger Catholic S.S., to help students prepare for the OSSLT?

AFTER SCHOOL LITERACY CLASSES: are being offered on the following days:
Sem. 2:  Feb.- Mar., 2020

This is available to all grade 10s, as well as students who were not successful on previous literacy tests. This is an opportunity for students to be placed in a small class with a teacher, who will teach the class about test content, instructions for completing the test and tips for doing well. All students must complete a registration package by Feb. 4, 2020.  Classes will run from 2:30-4:00 pm each Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday . Please ensure that the Litearcy Registration formLIT - NUM REGISTRATON FORM 2018-2019.pdf has been completed and returned to the Main Office with your child.

eLEARNING: Students may access the D2L for additional course support and to review strategies and literacy tasks that will appear on the test. Students can watch videos, read important information and practice their skills at their own pace. The username and password is the same as their school account.

LITERACY DAYS: These lessons are an opportunity for teachers to implement targeted strategies in their lessons to address the concerns that Léger students have had on their Practice (Mock) Literacy Test last year. These lessons will take place throughout the year. See the Events calendar on this site for details.

NOVEMBER FOCUS: The News Report Writing Task (Nov. 19, 21 and 26). Period #3 classes will work on strategies related to this writing task over three days in November, 2018.

JANUARY FOCUS: Multiple-Choice (Jan.7-17). During the last two weeks of semester 1, Period #2 classes will learn multiple-choice test taking strategies by administering two 35-question tests based on grammar.
