Literacy Test
All grade 10 students will write the OSSLT in the Spring.
What is being offered at Cardinal Léger Catholic S.S., to help students prepare for the OSSLT?
AFTER SCHOOL LITERACY CLASSES: are being offered in both semesters after school from 2:30pm-4:00pm on Tues/Thurs or Mon/Wed.
This is available to all grade 10s, as well as students who were not successful on previous literacy tests. This is an opportunity for students to be placed in a small class with a teacher, who will teach the class about test content, instructions for completing the test and tips for doing well. All students must complete a registration package by the prescribed date. Classes will run from 2:30-4:00 pm each Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday . Please ensure that the Litearcy Registration Form has been completed and returned to the Main Office with your child.
eLEARNING: Students may access the D2L for additional course support and to review strategies and literacy tasks that will appear on the test. Students can watch videos, read important information and practice their skills at their own pace. The username and password is the same as their school account.
LITERACY DAYS: These lessons are an opportunity for teachers to implement targeted strategies in their lessons to address the concerns that Léger students have had on their Practice Literacy Test. These lessons will take place throughout the year. See the Events calendar on this site and the MySchoolDay App for details.
