Grade 8 YFA Launch 2023 Annual "Candies for Kids" Drive in Support of Dr. Simone's CFFC Charity.

WE WANT YOUR UNWANTED CANDY!

The grade 8 Youth Faith Ambassadors are proud to announce that we will be holding our Annual Candies for Kids drive in support of Dr. Simone's Canadian Food for Children Charity.  This is a great opportunity to share your otherwise unwanted Halloween candy with less fortunate children around the world.

Dr. Simone's charitable organization ships the candy directly to agencies who work with children who are malnourished and often dehydrated. The sugar in the candy stimulates their appetites and saliva which is necessary for these starving children to eat again.

Donations of candy, chocolate and chips will be collected by the YFA from November 1st- 8th.

Thank you for your continued support!

SOCKTOBER is BACK at St. Joseph School!

Dear Parents and Guardians of the St. Joseph School Community,

As our next social outreach initiative, the Grade 8 Youth Faith Ambassadors of St. Joseph School are holding our Annual SOCKTOBER drive this month.  Please support this drive by donating a pair (or two!) of new, unused socks.  Let's come together as a school community to help make this a warmer winter for our neighbours in need!

Did you know that new socks are the number one most requested and least donated item to homeless shelters?  Those experiencing homelessness are at risk of a variety of health related issues, and these risks only increase with cold, damp weather. Having a clean, dry pair of socks is essential to keeping healthy.

This year, we have once again teamed up with Jordan's Annual Sock Drive, a local initiative run by an inspiring young lady, and we hope to make another generous contribution of socks to help her attain her 2023 goal. You can follow Jordan's 2023 journey on Facebook and Twitter (@JordansSocks).

At St. Joseph, We C.A.R.E!  SOCKTOBER is a time to start reaching out to those in need, starting from the feet up!

Thank you for your generosity and support!

The YFA Facilitate a Successful Thanksgiving Food Drive 2023

The Youth Faith Ambassadors organized and facilitated a succesful Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Our school community came through in a BIG way, and we were able to donate over 20 boxes of most needed items to the food bank this Thanksgiving season.
