The Academic Resource Department at Iona is responsible for meeting the needs of all learners requiring the collaboration among all partners involved in the learning process.  The staff in Academic Resource helps and supports students who are deemed exceptional by Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) and who are on an Individual Education Plan (IEP). 

 

Resources available to students

> Alternate work space for individual students or small group of students

> Help with reviewing concepts taught

> Help with organizational skills, time management skills, and study skills

> One-to-one editing assistance in preparing assignments, essays, projects, etc.

> Extra time when writing tests and exams

> Student counseling

> Students have access to computers and assistive technology programs

GLE 101/201 Learning Strategies 1: Skills for Success in Secondary School (Students with an IEP) (student must have recommendation of principal )

GLS101 Learning Strategies 1: Skills for Success in Secondary School Grade 9/10(student must have recommendation of principal )

GLE 301/401 Learning Strategies: Skills for Success After Secondary School Grade 11/12 (student must have recommendation of principal)
