“Meet the Chaplaincy Leader”
Greetings from the Chaplaincy Department! My name is Flo Pianta and I am the Chaplaincy Leader of St. Aloysius Gonzaga C. S. S. There are not enough words to express how happy and privileged I feel to be part of the school community. I also feel very blessed to be able to serve in a school within my own parish family, Merciful Redeemer Parish. It is amazing to witness how at Gonzaga, both staff and students express an enthusiastic and vibrant commitment to their faith. Celebration and participation in prayer and worship, and ministries that work to bring awareness to social justice issues, service and outreach to the most vulnerable in society, and intentional efforts to nurture and live out the virtues and Catholic Graduate expectations are just a few ways this community works to bring Christ to others and each other. I look forward to serving the staff, students and families of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, as we work together for the greater glory of God.
“What does the Chaplaincy Leader do?”
The Chaplaincy department is foundational to the partnership between school, parish and home as it serves to offer pastoral care and spiritual support, especially in the areas of Faith Formation, to both students and staff. This is achieved through a ministry of presence to accompany students and staff in the experience of prayer, celebration of faith, grief and bereavement support, collaboration with Administration and other support staff such as Guidance counsellors, Child and Youth workers, and Social workers, retreat programs and various ministries. If you ever have any questions about Chaplaincy, please feel free to contact the Chaplaincy office at extension 70240.
