The information on this website is organized into three main sections:

  • Scholarships listed according to the month in which they are generally due.
  • University scholarship and financial aid information.
  • College scholarship and financial aid information.

While every attempt has been made to ensure accuracy, information may be subject to change.  (E.g. The month of deadline sometimes varies from year to year.)

The information here is intended as a guide to assist you with your research.  It is your responsibility to research the specifics of the scholarships that interest you.

Be sure to check also the Scholarship Bulletin Board outside of Student Services.

Students who are strong scholarship candidates are those who have demonstrated:

  • Academic excellence
  • Leadership
  • Extensive volunteerism in the school and community (well beyond the required 40 hours)
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities.

If you intend to apply for scholarships in Grade 12, start to make yourself viable in Grade 9.  Drop by Student Services to pick up a Scholarship Tracking Sheet.  This will help you keep track of your activities, awards, etc. so that when you are in Grade 12, it will be easier for you to complete your scholarship applications.

Good luck!

Carleton University

GUARANTEED ENTRANCE
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
Students are automatically considered for Entrance scholarships when applying to Carleton so no application is required. Starting at an overall admissions average of 80%, Entrance Scholarships are renewable over the first four years of an undergraduate degree with A- standing. If lost one year, scholarship may be regained at its original value with a return to A- standing (10.0 GPA).

The value of an entrance scholarship offer is determined by the admissions average. At Carleton University, prerequisite courses are included in the calculation of an admissions average. We do reassess entrance scholarship offers at various points during the admissions process as new marks are received to support the application. There are two opportunities for this to occur: when we receive first semester final grades and again when we receive second semester midterm/interim results. If the admissions average increases, the entrance scholarship offer will increase accordingly and a letter to confirm the new scholarship offer is sent to the student. On a final note, entrance scholarship offers are not reassessed (neither increased nor decreased) on final secondary school grades we receive June/July.

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION INFORMATION AND DEADLINE:
Students with a 90% admission average are eligible to apply for one of our Prestige scholarships.
Applications are due March 1. Other program-specific scholarships are available.
