The St. Evan School community of approximately 415 students was formed in September 2018 and staff and students were housed at two 'campuses' located in existing Dufferin-Peel Schools. Students from Junior Kindergarten-Grade 3 were housed at St. Rita Catholic Elementary School and students from Grade 4 - Grade 8 were located at St. Leonard Catholic Elementary School. Both sites are in Brampton and are located within the St. Leonard Parish boundary, the same parish in which the permanent school building is located.
Staff and students from St. Evan School celebrated their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony at their permanent location at 500 Dougall Avenue, Brampton, on January 7, 2019 on an extremely cold winter morning. Parents and community members were welcomed into the school for an Open House celebration on the evening of Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
The Solemn Blessing and Official Opening of St. Evan School took place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the school, and was celebrated by Rev. Paul Nosan, Pastor, St. Leonard's Parish, Brampton.
We anticipate the St. Evan community will continue to grow and flourish, serving the needs of Catholic families in the Caledon area. Currently, we have 567 students enrolled in the school, some learning in person and others virtually.
