Since September 1999, all students in Ontario have been required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement as part of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) requirements. Students can begin accumulating community involvement hours in the summer before they enter grade 9.
Our school works to support students in choosing opportunities that not only allow them to give back to their community but would also assist them in building skills relating to their post secondary career. Students are reminded to choose an opportunity that:
- Gives back to your community
- Interests you and that you may look forward to participating in
- May help lead you to a post secondary career
- Fits into your schedule and that you can commit to doing
