St. Alphonsa Catholic Elementary School to celebrate Solemn Blessing
On Wednesday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m., St. Alphonsa Catholic Elementary School in Brampton will celebrate its solemn school blessing. The blessing will be presided by Rev. Jan Kolodynski.
A school blessing is a milestone event in the life of a new Catholic school, and normally takes place within one year of the opening of the school. Blessings are highly ceremonial occasions with a strong community focus, and are attended by students, parents, clergy, school staff, board officials, school trustees and other elected officials.
"This sacred event will capture and exhibit the development and life of St. Alphonsa Catholic Elementary School and its community," said Mark Cassar, principal of St. Alphonsa Catholic Elementary School. "Students, staff and parents have contributed to its preparation, including solemn scripture readings, choir singing, and drama presentations. We welcome students, parents and members of the community to come out and share this occasion with us."
St. Alphonsa Catholic Elementary School, located at 60 Olivia Marie Road in Brampton, opened on September 6, 2017. It is home to 250 students ranging from JK to Grade 8.
