The purpose of this document is to provide guideline for the consultants in the preparation of the contract documents. The guidelines organizes the facilities into groupings and identifies for all stakeholders, the current standards, and expectations of the Board.
These guidelines are not to be considered as a prefabricated, single standard that enshrines a model, precluding flexibility. Rather, it establishes a basis for negotiated balance between the best value of design and construction, and the program needs as identified in each unique situation.
As program requirements and design parameters change, the original guidelines require periodic updating and adjustments. Amendments through Addenda to the Guideline are prepared by the Design Department for the approval by the Board. The last Addendum, No.EA.1, has been identified in coloured font.
